How we can help
Do You Have A Hormonal Imbalance? When the word “hormones” is uttered, visions of raging menopausal women come to mind for most. Hormonal changes affect everyone from birth to death, yet we seem to have a very negative association with that word.
For women, the most pronounced changes come in their 40s and 50s, but can been seen as early as their mid-30s. Many more women are having hormonal symptoms earlier, which has a lot to do with not only our lifestyle and diet, but also the pollution, toxins and synthetic chemicals that act as estrogen in our bodies that we’re exposed to every day.
Some of the most common symptoms of hormonal imbalances are:
- Persistent weight gain
- Belly fat and loss of muscle mass
- Low libido
- Fatigue
- Anxiety, irritability and depression
- Insomnia and poor sleep patterns
- Sweating
- Digestion problems
- Cravings
Are your hormones all over the place?
How are you sleeping?
If your sleep isn’t as sound as it used to be, hormones could be the culprit. Diminishing levels of estrogen and progesterone as you age have the ability to disrupt sleep and wake you up in the middle of the night. That can prompt you to reach for the sleeping pills—but they’re only a temporary fix to a deeper problem.
Did you suddenly gain weight that won’t go away?
This symptom often points to out-of-whack hormone levels. On top of that, the weight problem is usually related to the sleep one, since your body will release more cortisol following sleep deprivation. And that cortisol, in turn, encourages your cells to store additional fat.
Are you skipping periods?
This is a big red flag: if a woman’s menstrual cycle is off, it’s time to look at her hormones.
Are your breasts tender?
Here, too, it’s likely an estrogen or progesterone issue. When these two hormones aren’t at optimal levels, your physical body responds. And breast tenderness especially usually points to too-high estrogen or too-little progesterone.
How to Address Hormonal Imbalances
If you suspect your “offness” may be a hormone imbalance, there are plenty of natural steps you can take to address it. Here’s what I would start with:
Deconstruct your diet – this doesn’t mean you have to go on a diet, but rather it’s all about adding some hormone-helping foods. In general, eating in a way that favours clean proteins (lean and organic meats, nuts, fish, etc.) over simple carbs (cereal, rice, white bread, etc.) is a great way to up your minerals, energy, and digestion, setting up your hormones to work as effectively as possible.
Stock up on supplements – there are plenty of ways to feed yourself hormone-balancing nutrients, but diet can help only so much. That’s why high-quality supplements can help.
Detox and Massage – there are many ways to start detoxing your body from drinking plenty of pure filtered water or water and lemon juice to eating the right foods and supplements. Dramatically cutting down your sugar intake will also really help your overall health.
If you eat more sugar, you ask your body for more insulin, straining your pancreas and wearing yourself out,” he says. “In the long term, this kind of habit can cause you to become chronically fatigued, diabetic, develop cancer, and pack on excess weight.

Regular exercise encourages circulation in the blood and lymph system. Doing so will also enhance digestion, reduce tension, lubricate joints, and strengthen your body. It’s a proven fact. People who exercise regularly have far fewer total toxins in their systems. Toxins are going to interfere with your hormone balance!
Then have a massage or two. A full body massage will help push the toxins from your body. Try a sauna as well. Regular massage can calm the nervous system, assist circulation and regulate the flow of fluid throughout the entire body. This nourishes and cleanses cells, assisting the regeneration of tissue, flushing the body of harmful wastes and toxins, increasing resistance to sickness and disease.
Drink – no not alcohol, but tea, herbal tea and natural organic coffee. Your body needs to be in alkaline state to remain healthy. An acidic body is an unhealthy one. Major illness, bugs, viruses and other illnesses cannot thrive in an alkaline body.
Drink alkaline water where possible, not tap water! A SCENAR treatment can successfully help change your hormone balance and remove toxins. Hormone control is not just a massage, a SCENAR massage, change of diet and water, it is a combination of all of these apporaches but no two clients are the same. Your body will respond differently and at a different pace to the next person. All our treatments will be adapted and tailored to suit you.
